Beliefs

Beacon Church believes in and embraces the Bible as the inspired and inerrant word of God. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • The Bible as our sole source of authority for all teaching, education, evangelism, leadership and practices.

  • That there is one and only one living and true God: the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. The eternal triune God reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

  • The concept that man is made in God’s image, and by his free choice sinned against God. Only God’s grace can bring man into His fellowship through Christ, who died freely as a substitute for the salvation of man.

  • That salvation, or regeneration, is the redemptive work of God’s grace where sinners are made new in Jesus Christ through genuine repentance and faith.

  • That believers saved by grace are baptized, not for salvation, but because of salvation, as an act of obedience and a representation of the life, death, and resurrection of a new life in Christ.

  • That believers make up the church of Jesus Christ, joined by a common faith in the gospel, united in missions and ministry, and observing the two ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

  • That the two offices of the church, pastor and deacon, are to lead and build up the body for the work of ministry to advance the Kingdom to the ends of the earth.
